Good design can make an impact. It can personalize a brand, taking the audience from seeing a communication piece to engaging with the Durham Academy brand. It can connect people through a common experience, stimulating not only conversations, but relationships, both in person and virtually. While good design can make an impact, great design goes a step further.
Great design combines the commitment to growth that define the entire Cavalier community with a bold and innovative approach that inspires students, staff, parents, and alumni throughout their moral, happy and productive life. I want to be a part of that mission.
Graphic Designer, experienced in designing cohesively for both print and digital mediums, with a knowledge of web, video, and email design and expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite. Interested in supporting and growing the impact of the Durham Academy brand through the position of Creative Services Manager.
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Campbell University, I entered the work force as a Junior Designer at Metro Productions and have worked my way up to the position of Web and Graphic Designer. Metro is a full-service marketing and printing company dedicated to helping their clients successfully motivate their audience through improved communications campaigns.
At Metro, I shoulder a significant amount of responsibility when it comes to the print design work created at Metro. Using the Adobe suite, I design everything from fundraising appeals and direct mail postcards to magazine publications and posters. Working at Metro, I have grown fluent in the language of printing and the requirements for designing to print at the highest quality.
Along with print and digital designs, I act as the lead designer on all web projects. This runs the gamut from complete websites (built on various content management systems like WordPress) and html coded emails (through mail systems such as Mailchimp and Constant Contact) all the way to customized social media content and custom video production for websites and social media. I have significant experience with HTML and CSS languages and enjoy combining the technical language of the web with the subtle language of design to make each project a unique experience for every client and their audience.
At Metro, I have worked closely with over 300 repeat clients that include local private schools, local universities, national & regional non-profits, healthcare providers, and several others. Having worked with so many clients, I have in-depth experience following and implementing brand guidelines across different mediums. During my duration at Metro, I have improved Metro’s project yield by an average of 260 projects a year, producing projects across both digital and print platforms including web design, motion and video production, and print layouts.
Below you will find some examples of projects I have completed that emphasize why I am the right choice for the Durham Academy team.
